THERAPY FOR GUYS

When services run out for young men with special needs, they are stuck at home with no social outlet or support apart from the strained family.

Guideway was created for guys like that. Guys who don’t want to do therapy cooped up in an office, but could use the guidance and support of an adult who is not mom or dad.

SOCIAL GROUPS

Real entertainment is being with other people– doing something together.

Guideway groups focuses on getting similar guys together to interact and learn from each other.

MENTORING

The primary Guideway service is therapeutic mentoring where the focus is put on painstakingly building a strong relationship based on trust and respect.

Out of this relationship comes the encouragement and guidance that steers the clients towards better choices and healthy life style in the areas employment, romance, friendships, fitness, and more.

Hi, my strong belief is that every young man needs a non-parent ally to mentor and guide them through social pitfalls of adulthood.

Mentoring Defined

Mentor is an age-old word that dates back to a Greek mythological concept of a wise and trusted counselor or teacher. Mentoring has been more explicitly explained by the encyclopedia of informal education recently in this way:

"The classic definition of mentoring is of an older experienced guide who is acceptable to the young person and who can help ease the transition to adulthood by a mix of support and challenge. In this sense it is a developmental relationship in which the young person is inducted into the world of adulthood."
